Let's talk about relationships; not only concerning the relationships of when we see that 'special someone' and our hearts go 'pitter-patter', but all sorts of relationships. Relationships with our friends, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, teachers, neighbors or any other specimen with intellect and freewill. We all have them. But, why though?

First off: we as humans were meant to be social. No man is willing to live without friends. Psychologically, seclusion from human contact can be detrimental to man’s health. It is often considered a form of torture in many parts of the world bearing in mind there is no income of this universal knowledge we need so dearly. All progress just pauses.

How would man benefit more in a relationship than being alone? If we compare the two relationships: man with man and man with artificial matter, we can realize the relationship between man and man is more complex, more important. Unlike the relationship between a man and his object, relationships between man and only man can be philosophized and seek for more knowledge endlessly.

But like how man should strive for the greatest good, he should strive for the greatest relationships. The people we hang out with will no doubt grant influence over us for better or for worse. And we are held responsible for our actions no matter what.

Though, in situations of sin, we see our colleagues playing the ultimate master minds, it is us who use our own freewill to commit the warped deed. Much like how we have the freewill to choose our actions, we also have the freewill to choose our relationships wisely. How do we choose the right person for a great relationship then?

“[…] friendship is limited to the extent of their association in [your] common business, for so also are [your] mutual rights as associates” (Aristotle, Nicomachean 5).

Relationships are based off of personality and of course on a common bond, but the strength of the relationship depends on the strength of the bond. The stronger the bond, the stronger and longer the relationship will last.

This isn't something I usually post; however, philosophy is something that is usually on my mind. We need people, personalism, in our lives to assist us in universal knowledge and enternal happiness. Though we should not be alone, we should choose wisely in our relationships in how one can contribute good in our lives and of-course vice-versa.
